Knowledges introduction
Knowledges are the sources of context a Builder can use to provide accurate, relevant responses and actions. They complement tools by giving the agent the information it needs to decide what to do and how to do it.
What Knowledges provide
- Instructions and guidance for using tools correctly.
- Reference material the Builder can search in real time.
- Persistent memory of user preferences and ongoing work (when enabled).
Knowledge types
Brixel groups knowledge into four main types:
- Abilities: procedural guidance the Builder can apply on its own while solving a class of tasks.
- Commands: procedural instructions that stay dormant until the user explicitly asks for them in chat.
- Documents: files transformed into embeddings for contextual retrieval.
- Memories: long‑term user context that evolves over time.
